Graduation Checklist
- Meet with your adviser to review degree audit early during the last semester
- You must have a 3.0 overall graduate grade point average for the degree to be conferred
- Complete your Intent to Graduate Form.
- To verify your information is correct, go to gonsu student account/Graduation tab.
- Details regarding the Commencement Ceremony will be posted on the NSU Homepage approximately 30 days prior to the event
- Information regarding cap, gown, announcements, etc. should be directed to the NSU Bookstore. You may reach the bookstore at (918) 444-2510 for the Tahlequah location or (918) 449-6150 for the Broken Arrow location.
- Attend the Graduation Ceremony
- Diplomas are mailed approximately six weeks following the date of degree conferral.
Diplomas will be mailed to the address provided on your Intent to Graduate Form. Any
change of address for diplomas must be sent to registrar@nsuok.edu. If you have not received your diploma 12 weeks after the end of the semester for
which you completed your Intent to Graduate Form:
- Check your online transcript for a degree conferral date.
- If no date is listed, check your NSU student email for communication regarding your conferral.

Submit your Intent to Graduate Form
Master's Degree and/or Certificate
Submit the Intent to Graduate Form for the semester in which you plan to satisfy all degree requirements. Schedule an appointment with your advisor to review your degree audit and address any questions or concerns about degree completion as soon as possible.
Honors Recognition of 4.0 GPA Requirements
- Honor recognition is represented by the wearing of a Metallic Gold and Green cord during Spring Commencement Ceremonies. Contact the NSU Bookstore to order: (918) 444-2510 in Tahlequah, or (918) 449-6150 in Broken Arrow.
FINAL DEADLINE FOR COMPLETING ALL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
For the academic record (transcript) to indicate a degree completion during the semester for which the student completed the Intent to Graduate Form, all paperwork must be in the Graduate College no later than two weeks after the close of the semester in order for you to remain on the list of students graduating that term. This paperwork includes:
- All grades, incomplete grades, and official transcripts of coursework completed at other schools.
- Final approved research papers, projects, theses, and capstone experiences.
- Notifications of comprehensive examinations.
If all requirements are not met, you will receive an email via your NSU email account stating that you were deficient for graduation. Check your degree audit and contact your advisor for your next steps. In addition, you must submit a new Intent to Graduate Form for the semester in which all outstanding requirements will be met.
